Pay water and garbage bills online by visiting our online payments website. A $3 processing fee will be charged for this service. Check with your bank provider for their policies regarding online payment. Some banks require up to 10 days to make your payment and late fees could apply if your bank does not get your payment to us on time.
In an effort to provide better service, the City offers electronic bank drafting service for monthly water bill payments. This can be arranged by the Utility Billing Department. Complete the Automatic Bank Draft Authorization Form.
Customers may pay their water utility bill by telephone using a MasterCard or Visa credit card. To pay by telephone through an automated line with a credit card, customers may call 888-630-1666 (notice: a $1.25 IVR fee will be charged for the Automated Phone Line System). A $3.00 convenience fee will be charged on all credit card transactions.

When a 911 call comes in, dispatchers often are not given precise or complete information. As such, units are dispatched on a worst-case scenario. To ensure the highest level of care, LFD sends the closest fire engine (staffed with a minimum of three personnel) or squad (staffed with a minimum of two personnel). Williamson County EMS sends an ambulance (staffed with two paramedics).
No medical call is “routine.” Most require assessing the patient, obtaining their vital signs, providing oxygen therapy, and moving them, at a minimum. EMS may also need to place an advanced airway, administer drugs intravenously, or monitor cardiac conditions. All of these procedures are completed more efficiently when the appropriate amount of help is on scene. Efficient care is our goal, and efficient care often is the difference between life and death.
Unfortunately, units have no way of knowing what they will encounter on a call until they arrive. They work in a “what if” and “all risk” business. Responding to the unknown is public safety.
Dispatch always assigns units for a worst-case scenario. Time is also of the essence in emergency situations. Our response typically includes an engine or two engines and a supervisor. Other units might include Taylor Police patrol officers, Williamson County Sheriff’s patrol deputies, and a Williamson County ambulance.
Getting the correct number of responders to the side of the patients is the priority, but not all responders are needed to directly touch the patient. For instance, often times you will see two large fire engines and multiple other EMS and Police units at what appears to be a very minor vehicle collision. This is done to protect the citizens involved in the collision, protect the citizens driving near the collision, protect the emergency personnel providing care and all while facilitating the removal of the damaged vehicles so that the roadway can be reopened.
Most likely, the call has been canceled. This often happens when the first unit arrives at the scene, surveys the situation, and determines that the request for assistance can be handled by that individual unit. Therefore, the other units will then be canceled so they are ready to take another call.
Firefighters will tell you, this cancelation always seems to happen as the big red truck comes up to an intersection and surprises the citizens in their vehicles sitting at the traffic light. It is often times safer to complete the passage of the intersection and then turn off all of the lights and siren rather than turn them off as drivers have already reacted to the apparatus’ presence.
Your Taylor firefighters are always ready to respond. One of the unique oddities of the trade is that the shifts are 24 hours long. The company an individual firefighter is assigned to becomes a surrogate family. Firefighters eat together, spend 24 hours (and sometimes 48 hours) together at a stretch, have disagreements, laugh, and generally experience long periods of busy work interjected with short bursts of life threatening and split-second decisions. Firefighting has long been recognized as one of the most stressful careers available.
The Taylor Fire Department encourages it’s firefighters to sit down with each other at least once a shift and have a meal together. It is very much like having dinner with your family at home. Meals are often filled with lots of general conversation and lots of laughter. In order to facilitate some of these meals, the firefighters go as a group to the grocery store. They go as a group so that they can (and often do) stop shopping, leave the grocery cart where it sits, and respond to a request for assistance from the citizens.
Our firefighters are never far away from the engine or each other. They get no formal “breaks.” Even though they may be buying groceries, these firefighters are still available for 911 calls.
In the fire station, engines are always plugged into a “shore line” to keep the batteries charged and the engine warm so it is ready to go. This is not an option while on scene. Power from the running engine is required to run the pump and distribute water. It is also needed to control climate within parts of the engine to properly store and transport medications that may be needed during a medical emergency. The motor also powers lights and emergency flashers.

Come to the Library and present a current picture ID and proof of current residence, like a valid driver’s license. You can also apply online for a library card by going to the TPL Catalog and clicking the SIGN UP button in the upper right. Instructions are included.
If you live in Taylor city limits, work for the City of Taylor or have a student who goes to school in Taylor, there is no charge for a card. If you live outside of Taylor, there is a $10 annual charge for an individual and $25 annual charge for a family. For more questions about proof of residence or ID, call the Library at 512-352-3434.
Overdues are .10 cents a day per item, but $1.00 per day for DVDs. Fines accrue for each item for each calendar day. Overdue fines cap at $5 per item. If you have an outstanding fine or fee, you can pay online by signing into your account (use the Catalog page, upper right) where you can pay through PayPal.
Your library account is accessible through the Library Catalog page, signing in with your library card and primary phone number (no dashes). There are some instructions when you click the LOG IN button on the upper right of the Catalog page.
Once you are in your TPL account, you can renew your own materials, place reserves on items, keep a list of books you might want to read, and pay any fines & fees through PayPal. If you have questions, please call: 512-352-3434.
You can renew your materials in person, or by phone (512-352-3434) or by e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org). You can renew an item up to 4 times, as long as no one has a reserve on the item. Likewise, you can renew through your library account via the Library Catalog page.
Yes! We have eBooks and digital audio books through Overdrive. You must have a valid Taylor Public Library Card, up to date with fees under $5.00. Go to the Library’s Catalog, log into your library account and then you have access to e-resources including: Overdrive, TumbleBooks, SimplyE, and the TexShare Databases. Again, this access is through your library account. We do not have an e-library card at this time.
The Library has 14 public computers for use when we are open. You start at the Sign In Station. If you have an assigned password, use that. Otherwise, use a guest pass, available upon request. There are limits for length of sessions, so check with staff. The computers are networked to a b&w/color printer. After you chose what you print, and send it off to be printed, you must next sign into the print release station. From there you can see your print jobs, delete ones you don’t want, etc. You must pay the coin-op next to the printer before you hit print. Feel free to ask library staff for assistance.
Yes, the library has free WiFi inside and outside of the building. (see the WiFi Policy) Library WiFi extends out to front porch and into the parking lot. Look for the TaylorLib internet access through your device’s settings. No password required. WiFi is all week long, but is restricted to 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

Printing is available in b&w or color. You can send a print job through a public computer or you can use the PrinterOn app to send a document straight to Print Release station by the public computers.
We have a new photocopier that does very nice printing, in b&w only. Copies are .10 per page, with a coin-op to the side. This new photocopier also has a scanning feature--you must bring your own flash drive to save your scan.

The Taylor City Cemetery is open for people to visit their loved ones from 7 AM to 7 PM. The Cemetery office hours are Monday - Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM should you need assistance locating a loved one's grave.
1. You may contact the Cemetery Coordinator either in person at the cemetery office or by phone, 512-352-3531, during business hours, 9 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday.
2. Use the Name's List, Addition Maps, and Cemetery Map.
1. View Names List, find your loved one by Last Name. Names are separated alphabetically via the tabs.
2. Using the grave location information, locate the corresponding Addition Map,
a. 4th Addition, 3rd Addition, 2nd Addition, 1st Addition
3. The tabs in each edition map correspond with the Block letter or number in each addition.
4. Use your Cemetery Map to locate the appropriate Block and Lot your loved one is located in. Note: on the Cemetery Map, each small square in the Blocks, is a cemetery lot, consisting of 8 spaces.
5. You can then use the Google Map View to drive or walk to the appropriate Block your loved one's lot/space is located.
To schedule a service or burial, please call the funeral home handling your loved one's arrangements. Burials and services may be held between 9 AM and 3:30 PM, Monday-Saturday. All burials and services must be scheduled with the Cemetery Coordinator a minimum of 48 hours prior to the time of the service. Weekends and City Holidays do not count in the 48 hour time period.
Flowers, real or artificial, may be placed on your loved one's grave. One set or bouquet of flowers is allowed per grave.
Absolutely NO GLASS containers are allowed to be placed on grave spaces.

Headstones are not required however are encouraged. Taylor City Cemetery does not provide any grave marking item.
Most funeral homes following a burial will place a metal or plastic "Temporary Marker" on the grave.
Headstones must be approved by the Cemetery Coordinator before being placed. Size restrictions do apply and vary depending on the location of the grave.
Please contact the Cemetery Coordinator during business hours to verify the applicable headstone regulations.
Headstone installations are required to be performed by a certifiable Monument business due to the required installation specifications set forth by the Cemetery.
All new headstone installations must be scheduled with the Cemetery Coordinator a minimum of 48 hours prior to setting along with the payment of the marking fee (See Fee Schedule).
Headstone work must be performed Monday-Friday, 9AM-4PM, same as the Cemetery business hours.
Fresh graves are typically left with a mound of excess soil to allow the natural settling of the soil while maintaining a level consistent with the ground around the grave.
In the event of rainy weather, the soil in the grave will settle more and faster causing the grave to "sink". We strive to fill these as soon as we are able. In the event your loved one's grave has sunk, please call the Cemetery Office and let them know your loved one's grave needs more soil.
Per cemetery regulations, no more than two sets of remains shall be buried in one grave in the following circumstances:
All graves, once the ground has settled, must be covered by natural grass. You may place sod and plant grass (as long as it's native and non-invasive) on your loved one's grave once the ground has settled. (We recommend approximately 6 months from the date of burial).
However, absolutely no rocks, gravel, stone, or any other material may be placed on or used to cover a grave.

The cemetery has no requirement on any outer burial containers, ie, concrete liners or vaults. However, the use of one does help prevent the cemetery grounds from sinking in over time.
The Taylor Streets Project uses funds from the 2019 Infrastructure Bond to improve roads, address drainage issues, replace water and wastewater lines, and repave driveways within the City’s right-of-way. Five streets will be reconstructed as part of the project. The project will improve mobility and safety along the following streets:

Construction is beginning mid July on W. Lake Drive and on 3rd Street. Construction dates for Lynn, Robinson and Edmond Streets are being scheduled.
Construction is anticipated to be complete by Summer 2021.
Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Work may occur occasionally Saturday.
During construction, streets that are part of the Taylor Streets Project will remain open to local traffic. The street will be closed to through traffic, however the contractor will provide access for trash pick up, mail deliveries and special deliveries.
Items located within right-of-way may need to be removed and relocated. . Existing conditions of driveways included in the project limits will be documented prior to repaving. Residents whose properties may be affected by construction will receive a notification no less than 48 hours before work begins.
If it is necessary to turn off your water service for any length of time, the Contractor will notify you 72 hours in advance with a date and time frame.
Please avoid parking on the street during construction hours.

Recycling conserves natural resources, saves landfill space, creates jobs and conserves energy.
Newspaper, magazines, catalogs, office paper, school paper, paper food boxes, shoe boxes, corrugated cardboard (flatten and fold to not larger than 3 feet X 3 feet square), soft bound books, junk mail, aluminum and steel cans, plastic food, beverage and household product bottles and jugs with #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6 and #7, glass bottles and jars. Please: no film plastic, Styrofoam or any glass other than food and beverage containers.
Collection of the recyclables will occur on an every-other-week basis on your normal trash collection day. Each residence will be provided with a collection calendar and the calendar may also be viewed on the City of Taylor's website.

The $2.50 per month cost will begin with the March 5, 2018 billing cycle, and follow according to the normal billing cycle thereafter.
If recyclables are in the trash cart they will be collected as trash and delivered to a landfill.
Contamination causes real problems at the recycling facility. The value of the recyclables is decreased and will eventually increase the cost of recycling. If the driver sees the trash in the recycling cart the cart contents will not be collected.

Recyclables are manufactured in to new products; some in the United States and some in other countries around the world. Generally, they are manufactured back in to the same or similar products but sometimes they become a different product. For example, plastic soda bottles are often shredded and re-purposed as insulation in winter clothing, automobile interiors or other consumer goods.

Call 512-352-3251 for assistance for water or street emergencies after 5 p.m. weekdays and all day on the weekends. Your call will be answered by Police Dispatch who will contact the Public Works staff on call.
The City no longer has a chipping service. However, the garbage provider, Waste Connections, will pick up bundled brush at the curb each week on your regular garbage pick up day. For piles of unbundled brush, contact Waste Connections for free estimates at 866-282-3508. Brush may also be taken to the Williamson County Landfill in Hutto located at 600 Landfill Road on FM 1660. For information on fees and hours of operation contact the Landfill at 512-759-8881.
