Planning

Our Mission

The City of Taylor's Planning Department is committed to actively preserving the community’s heritage, and shaping its future by implementing the City’s adopted vision and encouraging a high quality built environment.

About Us

The Planning division is responsible for ensuring that development is consistent with the community’s vision through the implementation of the City’s development policies including the comprehensive plan, and the zoning, and subdivision ordinances.

We also have the privilege to support the City Council, Planning and Zoning Commission, and the Zoning Board of Adjustment.

Questions

If you have any questions about developing a property in the City or its extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) you may inquire by emailing planning@taylortx.gov.

The Planning department can schedule a Pre-Development meeting. The purpose of a Pre-Development meeting is to provide property owners/developers with an opportunity to discuss their proposed development project with City staff in a single conversation at the preliminary stage. The meeting is for informational purposes only and does not constitute pre-approval of the development project. The City will provide written meeting notes following the meeting.

All Pre-Development meeting requests are processed via the MGO Connect portal. A fee of $500 is payable upon acceptance of the application
