About the Streets Maintenance Division
The role of the Streets Maintenance Division is to ensure the maintenance and repair of city streets, street signs, school zone signs, and pavement markings within the right of way of the city limits of Taylor. The division also supports the annual spring clean up program. Some streets within the city limits of Taylor are not maintained by the City. These include state highways, Farm to Market roads, and County Roads.
Level-Up Program
The Level-Up Program seeks to improve the worst of our streets by adding a few inches of fresh asphalt on top of the existing roadway. This program has been in place since 2019 and we continue to do more streets every year as our skills and budget grow. While a level-up treatment does not fix the underlying foundation problems with our worst streets, it does give the street a smooth driving surface for the next 3-5 years. You can see past and current Level-Up projects on our Capital Improvement Dashboard.
