Animal Control Appeals Board and Shelter Advisory Committee

Introduction

Established in 2009, the Animal Control Appeals Board is tasked with hearing appeals and considering evidence regarding the denial or revocation of registration. In their capacity as the shelter advisory committee, it shall be the committee’s duty to assist the animal control officer with the requirements of Chapter 823 of the Health and Safety Code.

Board Membership

The City Council appoints the nine members of the board. The board must consist of one veterinarian, one municipal official, one person who's duties include daily operation of an animal shelter, one representative of an animal welfare organization, and five Taylor residents. Members serve staggered 3-year terms.
