A native of Wichita Falls, Texas, Robert has almost 40 years of municipal government experience in Texas including twelve years in city management and, most recently, over fifteen years as Finance Director for the City of Leander, Texas. Robert graduated from the University of Notre Dame and obtained a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University. Robert has worked in Williamson County since 2001 and is also a board member with the Williamson County Children's Advocacy Center. In addition, he previously served on the Williamson County & Cities Health District Board, and served on the former United Way of Williamson County Board. Robert and his wife, Jeri, have three grown children who live in San Antonio, Dallas, and Austin.
In Leander, Robert was responsible for the financial management of one of the nation's fastest growing cities between 2009-2025. During this time, the population increased from 25,000 to over 80,000. In 2009, the City of Leander had less than 200 employees and in 2025 had 488. Robert has experience, knowledge, and insights into all aspects of financial management as it relates to Texas local government and is excited about his new role and the opportunity to participate in the exciting future ahead for Taylor.
