Trash and Recycling
The City of Taylor contracts with Waste Connections for curbside trash and recycling services. Trash and recycling collection fees are added to resident's water bills each month. All city fees can be found by clicking this link.
New Bins
New bins are on the way from Waste Connections. Both are blue: trash bins will have black lids, and recycling bins will have yellow lids. For now, they’re only being given to new customers and used as replacements for damaged cans, but Waste Connections plans to roll them out to all customers eventually.
Curbside Trash
Curbside trash service runs once per week. To see what day of the week your pickup is scheduled for, click here or download the app below.

View the 2026 Recycling Calendar here to see when your recycling collection group is scheduled for pickup.
A blue recycling cart is provided for each single-family home that receives trash collection services. Recycling is picked up every other week on the same day as your trash collection.
NOTE: Bottle caps and plastic lids may be recycled, but WC asks they be removed from the bottles. If attached, the caps and lids shoot off during the compaction process and can be dangerous to workers.
Bulky Trash
The trash company will remove one bulk item per week on your trash day. Please contact Utility Billing at 512-352-2066 to request a bulk item pick up prior to your trash day. No construction material (wood, sheetrock, carpet, etc.) will be removed. Also any item that may have contained Freon will only be removed with a certificate stating that the Freon has been removed.
Tree Limbs
All residents who pay a City of Taylor utility bill and receive garbage service are entitled to once-a-week pickup of brush placed at the curb. Please, no limbs longer than four feet and the brush pile should be no larger than five cubic yards each time. Place at the curb the same day as your regular trash pickup. Any pile larger than this may be picked up for an additional fee. Please call 866-282-3508 to request an estimate.
Damaged Carts and Additional Services
Call 512-352-2066 for missed pickups or damaged cart replacement.
For additional services such as a temporary roll-off dumpster, please call Waste Connections at 512-282-3508. No other roll-off dumpster services are allowed in City limits. Waste Connections is the only authorized trash vendor in the City limits.
