Kelly Cmerek was elected to City Council District 3 in May 2024. He was elected to serve as Mayor Pro Tem in May 2024 and reelected in June 2025. His current term expires May 2027.
Mr. Cmerek has more than 28 years of banking experience and is currently with Wells Fargo as a business development officer in the SBA Lending Group. Before joining Wells Fargo, Mr. Cmerek was a lender in the SBA lending division of PNC Bank for some 26 years. His banking career started in 1995 after earning his bachelor’s degree in Finance with honors from the University of Texas at Austin.
In 2023, he surpassed the $400 million mark in SBA loan production, a prestigious accomplishment among lenders. He is responsible for originating loan transactions for projects ranging from $350,000 to $10,000,000.
Mr. Cmerek is a life-long resident of Taylor with his wife, Alayne. The couple has three grown children and two grandchildren. Hobbies include ranching, tennis, and pickleball.
