During his time in San Angelo, he worked At Shannon Hospital for 23 years and retired from there. Since he moved to Taylor, he had been looking for some way to help the community and found it with the Response Team. He enjoys woodworking, making pens and other small things, and riding his new motorcycle. He and his bride just celebrated 53 years of marriage and have a son, a daughter, 2 granddaughters, and 5 great grandchildren.
Sacheen Yates graduated from the City of Taylor Citizen’s Fire Academy in 2014 and is a founding member of the Taylor Fire Department Rehab Support Team eventually becoming head of the team. She grew up around fire trucks and loved spending time with her beloved grandfather, a 42-year member of a fire department in upstate New York. She enjoys spending time kayaking, cycling and working on her 1930’s home in Taylor. Sacheen is proud of her volunteer service working with hospice patients, homeless children and Habitat for Humanity. Her time as an elementary school mentor/tutor has been the most fun, the most fulfilling and the most challenging of all her passions.
